Hi! Yes it did, he doesn't have the yellow tip anymore and now I give him less calcium. Sometimes the urate tip will be a pale yellow but according to my vet that is fine, it's the same "texture" as the rest of the urate, not like the one in this photo as the yellow tip was a little harder.
Hi, can you provide pictures of your beardie's tail, and possibly your enclosure with temp and lighting info? I'm sorry I won't be of much help but there are other users on here who would be of great help so thought I'd get the ball rolling.
You definitely wouldn't be judged. I also have a beardie that is rare outside of Western Australia; a pogona minor minor (they are also very small) and everyone here has always kindly helped me and given such great advice. I'm sure you will enjoy your time here 😊
Also is it true that Rankins...
Feed what?
Moths don't eat, they lay eggs/mate and then pass away. They last for about a week
The silkworms can eat chow but if they were raised on mulberry leaves first then it's highly likely they won't switch to chow. 😊
Yup he did have coccidia before and we had a talk about that and he has now been cleared of it... but now that I'm thinking about it when he was positive for coccidia he never displayed signs of parasites or illness, he seemed as happy as can be, being very active lil boy so I was a bit...
Ah yes I've heard of that, that beardies naturally have low counts of coccidia and as long that it doesn't get too out of hand where it causes illness then you should leave it alone?
Yes they specialise in exotic vets (they even have a docuseries about their vet and the patients they see...
Hi Tracie!
Thank you! He's doing very well, I just love seeing him always exploring his enclosure although sometimes he can get a bit loud with his shenanigans but as long as he is happy then he can do whatever 😅
OK, that's very reassuring to know. Thank you for your help! 😊
Ah OK I see, I do weigh him weekly and try my best to take note of his behaviour, and there's no glaring problems there.
And yes, with your help and other users on here I was able to have correct basking temps and UVB long ago.
Thank you!
Hi all,
I've just been wondering if a bearded dragon DOES NOT show any signs of illness as in
- no change to behaviour, bowel movement, etc
- no visible injury
- no stress marks / black beard
Can they still be hurting internally?
Like... say that a dragon has minor MBD and is getting worse...
Arcadia t5 12%. I've been here before and I remember getting the A OK from you regarding lights hehe - you were very helpful.
OK, thanks for the advice! I appreciate it :)
Wow thank you so much for all the advice!
He was being treated for coccidia and when I gave my vet his poop to get a recheck he got cleared for coccidia (YAY) but they found that he had a nemotid parasite but not sure which so we're currentlt trying to clear that out now. No idea how he got it...
