    Decreased Appetite + Sleeping

I would say about 2 weeks now. It's just bizarre because I normally get home from work, and even if he is in his hide, he is clearly wide awake. Now, he is asleep and does not wake up unless I touch him to pick him up. And I am monitoring his weight daily. I just hope the baby food feedings...

    Decreased Appetite + Sleeping

Hello Everyone, My 10-month old beardie, Tuco, has not been eating nearly enough for the past two weeks. He is fed a diet of dubia roaches (staple) with hornworms and butterworms as treats. He is offered a salad every day of a mix of collards, turnip greens, butternut squash, and carrots. He...

    Possible Eye Infection

Thank you for your reply! He went to the vet about a month ago in the cold, yes, but he had two handwarmers in his carrier so he should have been somewhat comfortable at least. I will try the honey - is unpasteurized honey widely available?

    Possible Eye Infection

Hi Everyone, Recently, my 8-month-old bearded dragon, Tuco, seems to be developing an eye infection. His eyes have a cloudy white discharge forming at the bottom of the eyelid, and when I get home from work, one or both of the eyes are crusted shut. Tuco is also usually at the bottom of the...

    Advice on treating for coccidia

That is great to hear! Mine (Tuco) has also made a huge improvement over these last two weeks - it's been amazing to watch. Do you have much longer to go for his treatment? The vet I took Tuco to said that if a dragon is experiencing something stunting their growth, they can still reach a full...

    Phoenix worms (BSFL)

They are great feeders, but just know that as babies, they can a lot of them. They are also a bit more expensive than crickets, but I think they are worth the price and more thanks to being so much easier to manage and because they are so nutritious. No calcium powder needed, no need to gut...

    Advice on treating for coccidia

Hi Boundangel, How is your guy doing? I am currently dealing with a similar issue, but we are only on day 4 of treatment...

    Non-Porous Basking Platform

Hello Everyone, I just took Tuco, my 7-month old beardie to the vet for a checkup. He has not been eating/growing as well as he should have. The vet said his husbandry was fine (lighting, temps, etc. all fine), so she suspected he could have some parasite. Regardless of what the fecal exam...

    Enforcing Feeding Ritual

Thanks for the advice! I actually just put in an order for some hornworms about 10 minutes ago! Maybe those will do the trick. For now, I think I am going to stick with only offering the dubia roaches for those 10-15 minute feeding times. Tuco also has salad offered throughout the whole day, so...

    Enforcing Feeding Ritual

Thanks for the reply! UV bulb is about 2 1/2 months old - it's a T5 reptisun 10.0, mounted over the screen of his cage in a fixture w/ a relfector back. His basking spot surface is approximately 10 inches from the bulb. Temperatures are good too! 105-107 basking spot --> 80 cool side.

    Enforcing Feeding Ritual

Hi Everyone, I have a ~7 month old beardie, and he has recently (within the last 6 weeks) stopped eating in front of me. If I put the roaches in his bowl (they cannot escape) and leave the room for an hour or more, he will eat 10-15+ roaches at every offered feeding. If I try to enforce a...

    Christmas Travels

I was just going through the same conundrum with my 6-month old beardie. I've opted to take him with me to see the family and set him up in an enclosure there. It will be stressful for him, but I think less-so than being without fresh food for 3 full days. There's really no 'good' option here...

    Juvenile Suddenly Skittish

Apologies for long post. I've done my best to format it. Recently my 6-month old bearded dragon has become very skittish. If I enter the room, he panics and runs into his hide, and will not emerge unless I have been relatively still (working at my desk) for about 30 minutes - 1 hour. If I get...

    Multivitamins going bad

I am only reading this now, but the multivitamin powder I use (Repcal) also has a yellowish color. Smells terrible too, and it's a bit 'clumpier' than the smoother (and odorless) calcium powder. It almost has a flour-like texture to it. I would just check the expiration date on the bottle.

    Traveling for Holidays

Hi Tracie, Thanks so much for replying! I've checked in with some of my friends here, and it seems like everybody here is going home for the holidays as well. That's just what happens when you live in an area with so many transplants. Looks like I'll be putting together a small temporary...
