    Scorch wants in Toki's viv

Scorch can go in and out of her viv? Wow, i continually underestimate how clever beardies are... My girl tries to leap into her viv and wonders why she ends up on the floor most of the time.

    Hi :D

When somebody doesn't know how to post pictures the word 'photobucket' usually crops up... inserting an image is easy enough you just have to get them on the internet first.

    Silkworm?

On the topic of Waxworms: They are very fatty and will cause your dragon to become balloon shaped if eaten as a staple. Just a heads up. I am from England and was wondering where I could get worms (like phoenix worms or silkworms) to feed to my dragon. So far all she gets are crickets...

    Just a thought...

The 'Indian' is a species of stick insect that I have had experience breeding and keeping. They live, mainly, on a diet of privot leaves (May be a factor contributing to their lack of usage as a feeder insect. Privot may not be compatible with a dragon's physiology.) Their willingness to breed...

why dont pet shops do this?

UPDATE... The pet superstore I was talking about in my previous post has started selling crix and will soon be selling beardies and leopard geckos, they trained their staff at the college that i attend which has one of the best animal management courses in the UK. It is nice to see that the...

    Just a thought...

I used to keep stick insects, they breed like crazy and are small enough as juveniles for beardies to eat... I'm sure that there is a reason that they aren't used as feeders i'm just curious as to what that is. the only thing i can think of is that they are quite thin but their shell isn't very...

    ice berg lettuce

oh, that is good to know.

    ice berg lettuce

Didn't i read somewhere that lettuce in general has a large amount of something which binds with calcium in it? which would make maintaining calcium levels of a beardie (which is difficult enough) even harder? Or is that just me?

    Biting Dragon

Yeah, sounds like he is trying to make more dragons. They should be housed separately and keep an eye on her because taking care of eggs and babies requires a lot of time, effort and a little money.

why dont pet shops do this?

Hey, Just thought i'd share my opinions on this matter. When I got my Beardie I was well informed by the owner of the pet shop, she wouldn't let me have my dragon until I told her exactly what size of tank, setup and temperatures I had and insisted that i let the tank sit for almost a day to...

    Food favourites!

Hey, Mushuu looks like a lovely dragon :) I hear that meal worms aren't the best thing to give a dragon as a staple because they have a very chitinous shell and not that much flesh so are potentially hard to digest. Crickets are the best staple seasoned with calcium dust, though locusts are...

    Strange little dragon...

Thanks for the tip, I had Rek out on my bed today. He/She looked pretty confused to begin with and ended up running off and looking back at me as if to say 'i'm running off, is it going to get scary now?' at which point I brought out the worms and ended up with a dragon munching on my fingers...

    Strange little dragon...

Thanks for the replies, first of all I would like to apologise for my choice of terminology with regard to my dragon, I realise that calling him/her an 'it' is rather impersonal. temps are around 100 in basking area, around 86-88 in the middle of the tank and probably around low 80s in the cold...
