    How big is your beardie?

wow... there are a lot of posts on this thread. Anyway, Rocky is almost 4 months old and about 11 inches long. Compared to some of the other posts on here I feel like that Rocky is a little Runt. LOL. But he HAS grown 5.5 inches since we got him on July 8th and I hear that's a pretty fast growth...

Anyone want to make an educated guess as to my beardie's sex

there is no way to tell the sex from these pictures. You need to lift the tail to an almost 90 degree angle. If there are 2 bumps on either side of the tail above the vent, it's a male. If there is on bump in the center above the vent it's a female.

    Photoshoot anyone?

*update* we ended up naming him Rocky-my tail inspection revealed 2 bumps (i'm 85% sure)...

    Rocky hanging out

I let Rocky check out the window for the first time and he jumped right onto screen! I would have let him hang out longer, but my kids kept pestering him....

    What's your Beardies name??

We finally decided to name ours Rocky, whether or not it's a boy or girl. I think if we discover it is a girl we will change it to Roxy.... I think I like that better.

    light green hue?

His nails look clear, which means he is a hypo (lacking black pigmentation), but besides that I have no idea. It's hard to say b/c most of the morph names are created by the breeder.

'phoenix' is the brand name and you can only buy them at phoenixworms.com. Other websites that sell live reptile food may also sell them; check out premiumcrickets.com. There may be a select few pet stores who sell them, but only those stores that specialize in reptiles, namely lizards.

so, are you saying I'm wrong? I didn't say you were wrong, I'm just saying that there is more to it than just lack of uvb... uvb is what helps them produce their own D3 which is vital in calcium absorption, but they also need a calcium supplement b/c most beardies don't get the sufficient...

it could also be a result of lack of calcium. Makes sure that you have both 10.0 uvb light and calcium supplements for your newly acquired beardie. Do you know how old the dragon is? babies need a calcium dusting on their cricket 5x a weeks, older ones need it about 3 times. You should also dust...

If you get yours from petco I would suggest that you take it to the vet soon after to make sure it doesn't have parasites or mites. Stores that Petco and Petsmart take care of their animals at the most basic levels and most are kept in terrible conditions. I would say it would be better to buy...
