Jazzy - Super Citrus Leatherback Update

I haven't posted much about Jazzy since I got him about 7 months ago. Here's the old thread http://www.beardeddragon.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=165607 I can't believe, looking back, at how much he's grown. Last I measured him he was at about 16 inches. He just turned a year old on Sept...

Major problems with 9yr old BD

Well, he is basically on a 100% veggie diet. Lately mustard greens but he usually eats endive...his favorite. I wonder if the mustard greens aren't settling well. He gets calcium dusted on his veggies some and he gets a large dubia or two as a treat maybe every week or two. (He is really fat...

Major problems with 9yr old BD

He seems to be panting less now and somewhat normal. I think the poop helped him even though he acted like there was more he couldn't get out. He is also breathing fairly normal. I am afraid he's getting toward the end but we'll see how he recouporates. He also threw up his vegetables...

Major problems with 9yr old BD

There have been some serious concerns with our 9yr old bearded dragon today. He has been panting and taking heavy deep breaths...hadn't pooped for a few days either. At one point he kept his back end still and started flailing his front end around somewhat violently...smacking into the glass...

Does Brighter Colors = Happier Dragon?

Well, I really like how active he has been lately and he seems really happy. Always running around and exploring, jumping for the ceiling...hanging from the vents, etc.... I think I am going to build a suspending bridge type of thing out of the faux-rock so that he can climb and get high. I...

Does Brighter Colors = Happier Dragon?

Just curious if there is any relation to the colors of my beardie and whether he is happy/comfortable. He is a Super Citrus Leatherback (still a juvie at 7 months). When he eats, he gets a much brighter color...especially when eating his Dubias. I did notice that certain things make him go...

    BD poop stains rock structure

Well I am in the process of re-doing the whole thing. I have painted it with that textured stone paint and am putting 3 slightly watered down layers of regular mod podge followed by a couple layers of mod podge outdoor. I am hoping this fixes my issues since the stone paint will hide better...

    BD poop stains rock structure

Id Mod Podge Hard Coat the Spray? Does Walmart carry it? I had a hard enough time finding regular mod podge liquid since I don't live near the city (or a hobby lobby).

    BD poop stains rock structure

For what it's worth...the white area has turned a dark purple now the same as the other areas. Still...not pretty.

    BD poop stains rock structure

I made my whole rock enclosure and all of that for my viv, put about 4-5 coats of mod podge over every area and let it dry for a good week. My BD pooped on the rock structure for the first time today. It stained it really, really bad. It now looks bad and this is only one time. What did I do...

My new 4x2x2 Birch/Pine Viv + Custom Rock Structures

I just wanted to share my new vivarium setup with everybody. It is a 4x2x2 and it took me a solid month to build the enclosure, stain it, trim it, build and paint the rock structures, mod podge everything, etc.... I didn't realize how much work it was.....but it was so worth it with such a...

    Cage Cleaning

Sorry...nevermind...just found a thread talking about this from earlier this month.

    Cage Cleaning

I had a thought today about how I clean the floor of my lizards cage. I have always just used a clorox disinfecting wipe to clean it out followed by a wipe of a paper towel to "dry". Is this an okay way to do it? Should I be using a bleach mixture instead? This is for the daily cleanings of...

    Sealed Wood Floor for Enclosure??

I hadn't thought about how slick it might be...good point.

    Sealed Wood Floor for Enclosure??

I am building a 4x2x2 Birch Plywood Enclosure. I have stained the inside and out and polyurethaned it in and out (a 2-in-1 stain and poly). I am going to seal the inside with mod podge to kill any lingering fumes or toxins. This got me to thinking. Can I just put 2-3 coats of Mod Podge on...
