Update - From a once Beardie Newb

Here's a couple - though not really a big 'take pictures of pets' person...(taken with a iPhone 3G)

    healthy weight and size?

Honestly, I have to say you do have reason for concern. Each beardie is different 'yes' however your beardie should be within what is 'normal' for an 8 month-old dragon. Many people feel you cannot judge overall health based upon length and weight...and yet this is what we do everyday with...

im not sure what to do:(

Just my two cents here... As already stated...4 inches long (and if from a pet store), he's probably quite young. If taken care of properly before you got him, he could be as young as 4-5 weeks old (at the time of purchase)...so we would be assuming about 6 weeks old today (as you've had him...

Update - From a once Beardie Newb

Some of you may remember me from my original post... "Newb Beardie Question (ownership less than 1 month)" viewtopic.php?f=6&t=115954&start=15 If not, no biggie, life has been pretty busy which is why I haven't been on here as often as I wished. However I did want to provide an update...

    Repti-Sun 10 in Ontario

What are you talking about??? That's what I was talking about actually. My 90 Gallon enclosure (which measures 48"x18"x24") requires a supplimentary heat source to achieve a nice temp. With the UVB bulb alone (which is a MegaRay SB 100w MVB), the basking temp is only 95F...I use a 100watt...

    Repti-Sun 10 in Ontario

How is the MegaRay bulb both UVB and heat? What size of enclosure are you using? I am using the MegaRay SB 100watt and the amount of heat produced by this bulb when placed a minimum of 12-13 inches away from the highest basking point is below 100F (typically around 95F) inside of a 90 gallon...

Is Beardie Too Young for Brumation?

Yup - he poops daily...occasionally twice in one day (but rarely). He eating habits are also quite regular...15-20 1/2 inch crickets between 8am-9am and 20-25 1/2 crickets between 630pm-730pm. I also make fresh Collard Greens available to him at least 3 times a week even though he still shows...

    Lighting: photo-kerato-conjunctivitis (UVB sickness)

So all my lights arrived and my UVB meter...which means I was finally able to setup and test the new enclosure... Lights: 1) MegaRay SB 100 watt 2) 60 watt Flood Light 3) 48" 'Cool White' Fluorescent tube 4) 48" 'Frosted White' Fluorescent tube Important to Note The MegaRay SB 100 watt was...

    Lighting: photo-kerato-conjunctivitis (UVB sickness)

Which is why I clearly stated that my beardie will not be placed inside the enclosure until it is tested. I also stated that the Flood Light will be on a thermometer/dimmer...which means I can set the max temperature AND if it is achieved, the flood light is dimmed or turned off until the...

    Lighting: photo-kerato-conjunctivitis (UVB sickness)

Ya, again I'll know more once I start building the enclosure. Minimum temp is not a problem where I am though since the indoor temp never goes below 70F....but you're right, I will need to ensure a good temp gradient, thus of course the reason for 3 temp probes. Hopefully I will know much more...
