I just got my first beardie, and my friend said " you know, they need to go to the vet's office". Is there any reason my beardie should see a vet on a regular basis ( like a dog or cat would)?

OK, so I know the bd's need a place to bask and I've heard you could use regular house bulbs or the special reptile basking lamps. What I don't get is if I use a fluorescent bulb (and using the basking lamp), does it need to have uva and uvb? And I've also heard not to use under tank heaters...

So I plan on building a new viv. I was going to build it like the "crossfire" model, but I was also thinking about making it out of plywood, and not venting the sides or back, and just having a screen front. Anyone with any help, tips, pros/cons would be greatly appreciated. thanks

I have plans for building a new viv, but the thing I don't get is how you mount and wire or rewire your lighting. If someone has any links or pics It would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
