Plzadvise!Beardie is not going to bathroom but eating & acti

Hi, My beardie is going on two and a half years old, I just acquired him by accident, having never owned a beardie before. He has never gone to the bathroom more often than once a week, but never is bloated or without appetite. I have read that they are supposed to poop every day... Lately, he...

Taking a long time to shed?

Update: His new heat emitter and lamps came in today, and once the tank warmed up, his skin even looked like it was beginning to flake off along his back. I would still like to know how I can expedite the process for him a little, as it seems he is taking too long, which I know could be a sign...

Taking a long time to shed?

Hello everyone, My beardie, The Man, has been looking like he is about to shed. The problem is, he has been looking like that for about a month now, with little to show for it except a patch off of his elbow and a loose flake or two on his lip. I have been giving him daily spray-downs and twice...

Anyone live in or around Rochester, NY, who could babysit?

Hi! I have just snagged a fabulous summer job, but it is not in this state. My parents live a thousand miles away...and my only option for care would be a former roommate. My beardie gets very, very, very depressed and stops eating when she is the only one around him, though, and I am concerned...

    How much to feed?

Thanks so much for all the help, everyone! So, how can I get him more interested in his salads??? He ate some radicchio today that I chopped up into his salad, and a little bit of endive. He also had some apple today, and he went CRAZY over that...he loved it. However, I am having trouble...

    How much to feed?

According to the guy I got him from, he is about two years old. If that is true, he seems very small for his age. That could be because of his awful nutrition in that person's care. However, he doesn't show much interest in greens, and seems to eagerly eat protein, so he may actually be younger.

Lethargic, not eating his greens, having trouble shedding...

Hi Tracie, Thanks for the quick response. I was not aware that I had to have another type of light. He didn't come with one...and I acquired him because his previous owner was neglecting him to the point of abusing, so I had no idea about anything to do with him. The basking light he has now is...

    How much to feed?

Hi, My beardie is about 18 inches long, and since I am a new owner, I have only been feeding him about 10 crickets a day, with lots of fresh greens, other veggies, and superworms (3 at a time, usually daily). According to what I am reading here...I am VASTLY underfeeding him. How much should I...

Lethargic, not eating his greens, having trouble shedding...

Hey all. I am a new beardie owner and am having trouble with my little guy (who is actually not so little). I inherited him by complete chance from a roomie's boyfriend, and I've never had a lizard before. I just want to do right by him. He has been doing well the last couple of months I've had...

    First-time heat emitter buyer....Help!!

Thanks for the reply! :) I measure the tank temp with a stick-on thermometer that I purchased a few days after getting him. He belonged to a roomie's boyfriend, who NEVER fed him or remembered to turn on his light. I began to care for him after I moved in in August, and finally confronted the...

    First-time heat emitter buyer....Help!!

Hi, I have just accidentally acquired a Beardie. I live in Western NY, so it gets very cold here, and he is on the first floor of my townhome, so the poor guy must be freezing despite his basking lamp. I want to buy a heat emitter to warm him up some (I have just ordered a heating pad for under...
