Yes, but I don't want to use screen sides, doesn't hold heat, I may sell them

I understand sand is bad to use because they can injest it but in the wide they have sand. I have a food dish for them and was wondering if it still would be bad to do half of the tank sand and leave food and water on the other half

The sides of my new bearded dragon are turning black, just got him and a female that have been in the same tank, moved them to a bigger tank with some more stuff and carpet floor, they had mulch, now his sides are turning black
