    Enema killed my beardie??

Of course. They are our children in a way, just like people say that dogs are their children. I’m so sorry you had this experience. Unfortunately even “exotic” vets sometimes aren’t very knowledgeable when it comes to reptiles. I trust the people on this forum more than I trust a vet and that is...

    Enema killed my beardie??

I’m sorry for your loss. Yes enemas are a last resort and often kill dragons. To me it sounds like the enema flooded the upper intestines and he couldn’t breath because of it, although I am not an expert. Was the liver failure confirmed with blood tests? Or was the vet just guessing? To me it...

    Beardie not eating after brumating

I wouldn’t worry so much if he’s not losing weight, but continue weighing him to make sure. Kai brumated for about 4 months total, 3 of which he was completely out. When he woke up it took about 2 weeks until he had his first poo, and it was huge! And gross. He didn’t start really eating again...

SPAZZING OUT SND THEN COMPLETELY STILL PLEASE HELPE

She’s not dying. Just very freaked out at the moment, probably from the fall, or even something environmental that freaked her out and cause her to jump and run. Honestly I wouldn’t do a vet appointment right now, that would only cause her more stress. Let her calm down first. It can take them a...

SPAZZING OUT SND THEN COMPLETELY STILL PLEASE HELPE

Shes scared to death poor thing. Mine did the exact same thing once. He went statue still, turned really dark, and then completely spazzed out and was slamming against his tank. Turns out he had seen a hawk outside the window. He actually saw a bird yesterday and he jumped and ran into a closet...

    First poo after brumation

Hi all so Kai woke up from brumation yesterday, he had been fully down for 4 months, and hasn’t poo’d since November. We are so happy to see him. I did weigh him and he only lost 10 grams throughout that time. Today he has his first poo, it was huge, and just wanted to check and see if it was...

    GOT A PAPER-TRAINED DRAGON?

Not paper trained, but I did start recognizing Kai’s I need to poop vibes. He will glass surf the front of his tank when he needs to go, so being the good human slave that I am I will take him out of his tank to do his business in the bathtub (sans water) for easy clean up. I started doing this...

    Feeling discouraged - baby beardie

So first off please post your setup with pictures. Everyone is going to ask for that just to rule out husbandry. Please do not feed meal worms to babies. Their shell is hard for them digest and can cause impaction. They can have supers when they are older. You’ve only had him a week? I fear...

Walter - 7mo dragon preparing to bromate?

I totally understand. It kinda freaks me out too that Kai has been dead to the world for so long. I check on him everyday to see if he has changed position at all, and if not sometimes give him a friendly are you still alive poke to see if he moves ( he does). It’s so hard to just leave them be...

Walter - 7mo dragon preparing to bromate?

Kai is 9 months old now. He started semi brumating at 7 months. Started out with him going to bed early, then he would just not wake up some days, progressed into him sleeping for days at a time, and now he has been completely out for a month straight. I did wake him up once to give him water...

    What should my leo eat?

It is possibly to over feed yes. When their tail is completely full they will start to store fat in their armpits, so if you see this it’s usually good to cut back a bit. They can eat pretty much any feeder a bearded dragon can, appropriately sized of course. Wax worms are good for fat however...
