Haven't posted Titus in a year...Here he is

Hey Guys, I used to get on here all the time when researching how to raise a beardie. Now that I am up and running I don't get on here as much as I used to or would like to. What a great site. I figured I would just show some updates. He is doing great. Here he is going for a ride with...

    Viv pics only thread

Wow! I haven't been on this site forever and came across this post of my viv and my Titus right when i bought him. I cant believe he was ever that small. Both he and the viv have changed so much. Crazy to think that was only a year ago.

    Lobster roach juice

Sounds like the same thing a Dubia Roach will do. I do not have Lobsters but have lots of Dubias and they do the exact same thing and it is used as a defense mechanism to void off anything that they believe is harming them or going to harm them. Very foul!!

    Roach Bin Pics Thread

I would say you are correct. I normally have to move some crates around and then will see all the females hiding unless it is dark and I shine a flashlight in and see them all out and about feeding.

Awesome, thats some serious amount of Frass accumulated in the bottom. I want to start letting mine build up more as I feel like I clean the main breeder bin out too often. How often do you clean yours out?

    Roach Bin Pics Thread

The one on the left is actually a checkbook box and the one on the right is the lid to a strawberry container. My cell doesn't take good pics so I can understand the confustion. My heat pads are on the bottom of the bins.

    Minimum heat required for Dubia?

Haha, I know exactly what you mean. I have mine in my basement and have found if I sneek up on them with a flashlight and don't shine it directly on them but maybe at the corner of the bin they sometimes do not scatter at all. It's really neat to see them all out at once. Give it a shot and...

    Minimum heat required for Dubia?

At least your honest :) My colony was ideal and the right size for the 2 for a while then I ran across some guy on craigslist that was getting rid of his whole colony and it was a great price so I went ahead and bought it from him hopeful that I can sell some off and make some money back. I...

    Minimum heat required for Dubia?

Haha, your gonna laugh. I am only feeding 2 critters. I have one bearded dragon and a leapord gecko. No need to tell you but lets just say I have enough for them to eat  I started the 3rd bin just to see how all adults will breed together. I added 80 females and 10 males to it about...

Here is a picture of a female dubia laying an egg sack

I have had a reptile stick on heater on the underside of my bin for a while now with no problems. The melting point of your bin is much higher than what the heat pad can get to. I like it on the underside so you have a wider area for the roaches to get on top of that way.
