    hornworm breeding

I've never attempted breeding hornworms but I'm sure that the eggs would need to be laid on real leaves as the newly hatched caterpillars start eating straight away, and many moth/butterfly species only lay on very specific leaves so I don't think they would recognise a fake plant as a place to...

    Keeping Giant Mealworms Going

They are Zophobas morio, they don't tolerate cold temps, refrigeration will kill them. They're not superworms as they're aren't feed hormones or such is what I've been told. Edit: This is the suppliers page on giant mealworms http://www.livefoods.com.au/giant-mealworms/giant-mealworms

    Keeping Giant Mealworms Going

So its that time of year in aus, my babies are going beddy-bies  lots to look forward to though, breeding my girl in the spring! But back to the topic - they've nodded of sooner than I had planned, lots of rain so its been cooler than normal. This has left me with a good number giant...

    Brand New Baby Girl!

Ohkay, well she isn't really a baby at 2 years old  I'm absolutely in love with her. Cute little face, and can pull of a very impressive pancake  She was a little bit cage protective when I picked her up, but once she was out she was the sweetest thing, holding on tight and...

    Splitting 4ft by 2ft Cages

The recommended minimum size for an adult 4x2x2, so I definitely wouldn't make it any smaller. Personally my 6x2x2 doesn't seem big enough so my babies got a, relatively, huge outdoor enclosure.

    Temporary Housing?

Hey all, I'm looking at picking up some more bds, but the weather atm is awful so the outdoor enclosure wouldnt be to comfortable for them. I've got a spare setup which can accomodate, but I'd rather not but multiple in one enclosure. So the question is, what do you all recommend as a temporary...

    Do you use a leash?

This is my baby's leash I put it on most times when we go out, and to let him run round the backyard

    Outdoor Substrate.

Hey all. I'm going to make my little guy an outdoor enclosure of sorts. It will be similar to this http://www.aussiepythons.com/forum/general-herps-42/outdoor-enclosures-finally-finished-d-126443 but probably a bit bigger. The build is pretty simple, but my concern is the substrate. Would bark...

Does Anyone Drive with their BD?

I don't drive yet, three or four months, but my little guy rides passenger with me all the time - to the petshops and such. I've never had any trouble with him and he seems to enjoy himself.

    going on vacation...what to do?

My beardy stayed alone at home for 5 days. Mind you he had a bit of fat on him. I just fed him up a bit before I went and left him a couple of bowls of his dry beardy pellets. It's always a risk leaving them alone, and I would have taken him with me if I could have.

    Puff's Space

I know how they make your heart stop! My baby ( okay he's not techincally a baby but :P ) made a leap from my shoulder on to a shelf of pointy aquarium decorations at the petshop :( Nothing happened, but oh I had a heart attack. Now I can tell when he's prepping to jump so, if I can't grab...
