    Beardie keeps nipping fingers!

That would make sense, he's a very big brat who's been dropper fed his whole life -- I am totally his subservient. He comes on road trips with me because I'm the only one who can get him to eat heartily so if I don't have to fly, he has to tag along.

2.25 y/a Female possibly to lay eggs?

Thanks for your advice -- I felt her tummy this morning while her cage was still warming for the day (re: she doesn't like her space invaded or being held so I can only really handle her when she's still a little chilly from night time) and I couldn't feel lumps but she's a little pudgier than...

2.25 y/a Female possibly to lay eggs?

My female has been acting a little strange, glass surfing, limited appetite, so I was going to set up a lay bin for her within the next couple days...I've had her for under a year and I have no idea what her history was before I got her, only that her viv had fallen from its shelf and shattered...

    Beardie keeps nipping fingers!

Yikes. Yeah maybe not. He got me really good twice already right on the first knuckle of two fingers, I'd hate to make it any more tempting.

    Beardie keeps nipping fingers!

I used to keep him in cooler temps but he was always super slow and lethargic so I was advised to crank it up a little for him by the vet to keep him more active and lively and to help with digestion issues from his crazy diet. I set him down to feed him outside of the cage and put food on a...

    Beardie keeps nipping fingers!

Wont take long for him to learn the difference between fingers that smell like worms/bugs and the worms. The occasional finger tip nip by accident is a cost of handfeeding , and usually the human's fault for not paying enough attention and not getting the timing right. You could if you are...

    Beardie keeps nipping fingers!

Yes he runs for whatever fingers he sees, even when no bugs are present. It's very cute that he's so excited to eat buggos but I'm regularly bleeding now until he learns. I'll give the dust a shot!

    Beardie keeps nipping fingers!

So I have a rehab case who is about 2.5 years old and just learning how to eat from my hands, real food too, instead of dropper food.... History: I took him in at 6 months old, he came from a home where his enclosure was too hot all the time and he stopped eating and they returned him to the...

    Lingering Lizard smell?

Thank you! The vinegar sounds like a good plan -- I use a reptile safe brand of cleaner that is supposed to eliminate the smell but it's tricky with so many enclosure in one room, and I'm sure the odor-removing properties are not as strong as vinegar!

    Lingering Lizard smell?

So I now have turned into a monster and in the course of a year have collected three rescued dragons. Everyone seems to be doing well, eating well and varied diets, and is under normal conditions, and with exception to the one guy who doesn't like to eat much and isn't extremely active (he...

How many xsmall mealworms to feed juvenile?

Thank you all for your advice...the eye turned out to be a large scab with went away with some warm water (boiled spring water cooled down) soaks with cotton balls for a week as recommended by my vet. She has a little scarring and kind of weird skin around her eye, but it seems to work fine and...

How many xsmall mealworms to feed juvenile?

Now I typically don't use meal worms, but yesterday I took in a baby (maybe 6-8 weeks, I'm not really sure) that has a funky eye that I'm working on healing (not sure if she's blind or even has an eye under the crusties). I have spoken to my regular reptile vet who said to give her a few days...

How to entice beard to eat on his own...

I believe it's called repti-calcium. I picked it up at petco but it's superfine calcium citrate powder. I have also ordered some oxbow carnivore care. I do not have a probe, but there are three thermometers in there, one by the basking spot, and one on the bottom of the tank on the hot and cool...

How to entice beard to eat on his own...

I rescued this beard last month...he was given to me by a friend who cares for the animals at a pet shop, and he was left there by someone who had received him as an Xmas gift. They had kept his entire cage at 110 degrees, so when my friend got him, he was lethargic, weak, and not eating or...

    Temperature Control/Thermostat Advice?

I currently have a very stunted growth wise 6-month-old beardie I rescued last week. He's my first beaded dragon, so I'm new to a lot of stuff. Mushu (the beardie) is only about 9 inches long including his tail, his body is less than five inches. Right now I have him in a 5.5 gallon tank, with...
