    Freeze dried meal worms?

Thank you both. There is surprisingly little information available online about using them for bearded dragons. I tried to get Oskar to eat a couple but he refused them anyway. He's a pretty big boy, 18 inches and 15.2 ounces as of last week. He's a very hearty eater and I want to get him new...

    Freeze dried meal worms?

I recently received a large bag of Mr. Cluck's freeze dried meal worms. They are high in protein and I am considering them as an alternate food source in place of live crickets. Does anyone have any experience or thoughts on this?

    Possible Brumation?

Hi. I'm sure you must be very worried about Levi. When was his last vet visit? I recently had to have my Beardie, Oskar, dewormed. It made a world of difference in his appetite and activity level. Does he eat crickets or other protein in addition to his greens? I hope he feels better. Belle

Digital probe thermometers should be destroyed

I just keep trying to hide the probes but he always find them... I need to find a way to make this work so I can use the thermostat. I'll post pics after I move his viv this weekend. I'm hoping he will be distracted by the big move and stop caring about the probes. He's always fussy when I move...

Digital probe thermometers should be destroyed

I have a temp gun and have 3 strip thermometers in place. I'm looking at installing s thermostat to help regulate temperatures. I just don't understand why he gets so upset with the probes. He flares his beard and attacks them. I worry he will end up tearing one and swollow a piece of it. Maybe...

Digital probe thermometers should be destroyed

Hi all! I have a 9 month old Bearded Dragon named Oskar. We are currently having a disagreement about the use of digital probes thermometers. I think they are a great way to get accurate temperature readings. Oskar thinks they are an invasion of his space and should be destroyed. I try to keep...

    First brumation? Need HELP!

I am taking a stool sample in this week for follow up and getting a probiotic for precaution. Our vet is coming over to help with the new set up this weekend. I will ask lots of questions, but he's used to it. Oskar gets fussy anytime we move his stuff so I expect he will be unhappy with his new...

    First brumation? Need HELP!

I do feel guilty for letting him get so cold. I can't help it. Our vet is a good friend, he specializes in exotics particularly reptiles. In fact he has kept and bred bearded dragons and other reptiles and is very knowledgable about husbandry. He will be over-seeing Oskar's move to a new viv...

    First brumation? Need HELP!

No need to apologize, I realized the picture wasn't very flattering after your reply and posted the one of him next to the remote. He weighs 15.2 ounces. His night temps were 85 high and 70 low, which is probably why he went to sleep on the cool side the night it got so cold. I'm using a temp...

    First brumation? Need HELP!

I do appreciate your response, but I just want to clear up some confusion for you. Oskar's daytime basking temp is 110 and cool side 70, so he has plenty of room to get comfy. The night temp high is 85, but on that specific night he fell asleep on the cool side against the glass around 70. We...

    First brumation? Need HELP!

Thank you Tracie! We did get pancour for the dewormer and he is back to his usual self it seems. I am monitoring his temps extra closely to make sure he doesn't get too hot, I've thought that too. We are fortunate that our vet is an experienced Bearded Dragon owner and breeder, but he may have...
