Hello,

Can you review your tank setup a little bit for us. Are you using a good UVB light for him
right now?
It is quite possible that he didn't have adequate nutrition or lighting prior to him coming
home with you. Please post some pictures of him, along with some of his tank set up
too if you can.
What type of food is he eating?

thank you so much for responding and ill post pictures as soon as i can but admittedly his tank set up isnt the best also before i had him he belonged to my friends little brother and it was mostly her mom who took care of him or my friend but i talked to her mom about it and she said hes has 3 sets of lights in the past but they all broke and im not sure how long he didnt have the lights before i took him but they gave me a thing of "gourmet by trex" bearded dragon gourmet blend and said thats what they use to get and he use to eat it they also said they use to feed him Romanian lettuce and they gave me a thing of super worms that i dont remember the brand or anything if there ws because i threw them out but now i am a little worried about it being impaction or whatever it was called because there where 3 worms i had in his tank for him to eat and they where there for a little while but now theres only 2 and they seem find so maybe he ate one without me knowing and that would burst me with joy but i did just realize not long ago those worms might be to big for him if it goes by simply the length of the worm it could very much be but for his tank set up i have this "zoo med" like double bulb holder thing that has a uva and uvb bulbs i dont know the exact size of the tank but id say its like a small mid size maybe? like not very big but noy small and he has this new red mat i got him but i wanna get rid of it cuz i rubbed a paper towel on it and the red came up and i not sure if thats bad or not but even so he doesnt seem to like the mat but its marketed as a bearded dragon mat and he has this big log thing my mom got him and he seems to love it a lot and his bulbs are above that i tried moving the bulbs to a different spot once and he looked at me and basically said i dont like it then went back on top of the log and waited for me to move the light also about the tank i thinnk its the same one hes had but im not sure on that but he does a have a little rope hacek hes had and a little rock hes also had and his water and food bowl and im also 100% not satisfied with the set up i dont have the one side for basking one side for cool zone and a heat zone i also dont have a constant heater for him or a thermometer but also today his leg seems a lot better but its confusing hes still 100% limping on it but today is the first day ive seen his actually run and JUMP i didnt know they could even do that but the leg doesnt seem tp hurt but he is still limping one last thing is me and my mom aare starting to think it could be how he sleeps for some reason almost every night he like flips his foot kind idk why aybe thats it idk im sorry for the bad writing and m sorry if im not taking good cxare of him :( im really triing but please any help will do and ill get pics up soonish

That sucks! BDs are popular pets but it's common to experience the negative things that happen

Maybe it's just a thing your beardie does, I suggest taking him to the vet IF you can, that way, you can figure out what is going on with your beardie :?

Hello,

How is your dragon doing this evening?
Usually impaction mostly affects the back legs but not the front arms. How large were the
worms that he ate? If he is an adult then he should be able to handle most sizes of worms.
Which worms are you using for him, superworms mostly?
Try using mustard greens, collard greens, turnip greens, arugula or dandelion greens, along
with winter squash or butternut squash.
Be sure that he is basking at optimal temperatures also to help with his digestion.
Let us know how he is doing.

Hello,

That is great news Shenron finally ate for you.
I would trade out the iceberg lettuce for a dark green leafy green such as turnip greens,
collard or mustard greens, arugula or dandelion greens for a more nutritious green.
Is she still basking a lot or is she trying to take naps?
What kind of worms did you purchase for her?
If you have some pictures of her tank setup, please post them so that we can see how
the lighting is setup for him. What type of thermometer are you using to measure her
temperatures?
Let us know how she is doing.

Hello,

Shenron looks really happy there, how is she doing today?
Is she eating more food now? It definitely does take some time for them to fully adjust
to a new home but I'm sure she is doing well!
What greens have you tried with her so far?

shes been doing super when i turn off her laps she likes to wonder the tank now and she sleeps i her long now too she use to just chill on top all night and shes been eating so much better i can tell she gets hungry and when i give her a worm she snaps at it and boom its gone i still haven't tried any greens because i haven't gotten any yet and i dont think there's anything in the house that would be great for her but she did eat a tiny bit of apple and lick all the juice off a small piece of kiwi but one thing that idk if i should be worried about or not is sense yesterday shell randomly flail up her beard a few times like pulse it but it doesn't turn black and also when she seems im coming over she stops and it doesn't really look likes its hurting her also its not like it happens ever 5 minutes but i looked it up and it said it could be them getting food stuck but im not sure cuz i learned she actually seems to love getting her neck rubbed i did it like 2 or 3 days ago and she started licking like crazy and when i stopped shed look at me like she wanted more but last time she started pulsing it again walked over and pet it for her and she put it down got happy so could the flailing just be her wanting attention ????

Hello,

How is your dragon doing today?
They do love to push their beards out though, for the joy of it as well as for communicating
with us or other dragons, too. It is possible that there was food left in her throat/beard also
that she was trying to clear out.
Is her leg doing any better?

Hello,

That is great news your girl has improved so much & is using her legs now. So she is
walking normally too?
I'm glad she is liking the collard & mustard greens that you got her, too. Keep offering her
nutritional variety with her greens, etc so she will recognize it as a regular food source &
continue to eat it.
It may take her a while to fully get used to people but be patient with her & eventually she
will settle in!
