Hello,
I got my baby Phoenix about a month ago and it’s been an uphill battle since day one. She is approx 2-3 months old, just a tiny little thing. I just bought a scale and weighed her she is 5grams and 6 inches long. At first she wouldn’t eat which I was told is normal for the first few days as she gets use to her new home. She started eating but only like 4-5 crickets a day and she wouldn’t eat any if they were dusted. I was told to stop dusting them just so she will eat. I did and her appetite never increased. She went from 4-5 crickets a day to none. I was told to try feeding her with tweezers. I did that for 2 weeks or so making her very mad to the point she started attacking my hand and biting me every time I put my hand in her tank. I was then told to try various worms and Dubia and see if she will eat on her own. I got everything I was told to get. She had no interest in any of the worms but loved the dubia, or so I thought. She ate the first 5 I gave her no issues. I thought I was in the clear and she was just being a picky eater. Well she stopped eating those as well. Now she will not eat anything again. All she does is sleep. She stays in the exact same spot for hours if I let her. I brought her to the vet they said she is just a little dehydrated. Ive been giving her baths every couple of days since I got her. It’s to the point where if I put her in with bugs she will open her eyes for mere seconds and then close them again. Same with the bath, her eyes will be open as I’m putting her in the bath but then she closes them and just lays there with her eyes closed. I have tried everything! I started with a 40gal tank and then reduced it to a 20gal. I’ve tried various baby foods, no interest all she wants to do is sleep. Please help me I am out of ideas. Her basking temp on her log is between 96 and 106 depending on the part she lays on. Hot side of the tank is 100 cool side is 86. But she NEVER goes on the cool side. She just lays there and looks dead until I pick her up and then she open her eyes for a few seconds and then close them again. Currently I’m forcing her mouth open to give her baby food and water by syringe. She will clamp onto the syringe when it’s in her mouth but she never willing opens her mouth. Please help I don’t want my Baby to die!!! Any other ideas???
