Hello everyone,
I've had my beardie for about 2 years now, I also posted on the introduction page. Based off of the age we were told at time of purchase, i'm going to assume he's about 2.5 years old. He was just taken to the vet last month and given a clean bill of health. He started to go a little crazy earlier this week, tank surfing and such which is not like him at all so I took him out and every time he was out, he tried to run into my room because it is very dark.
He did not go into brumation the first year we had him so this is my first experience with this and I"m 99% positive he is brumating as he just slept on my bed for over 24 straight hours. My concern is that I read somewhere that I have to wake him up and try and force him to poop as the food can rot his insides. Is this true? He woke up once already and he had a salad and some water then went back to sleep. Do I have to wake him up during the brumation for baths, water and poop sessions or should I just let him be? I regularly check on him to make sure he's still breathing because I'm super paranoid but any tips and advice would be very helpful.
