Concerned that this is tail rot

Does this appear to be tail rot? He had been shedding a lot, but the tail area appears to have stopped where it is. When touched, especially on the right side where it is darker his tail will move as if it hurts. I think it is. I have contacted the two vets in my area that see reptiles and the earliest I can get him in is next Friday. On cancellation list for both. So looking for your thoughts.
He did recently have a diagnosis of dislocation of LH and right hip had bone fragments. I did a post on the general health about that a couple weeks ago. So I don't know if it is related to that or not.
After a nice long soak this morning it does seem like some of the shed by the top might be loosing up. But still I have my doubts.

Beardie name(s)
Hiccup he is 6 and Blaze is 4
Causes of tail rot are:
1. Injuries/trauma - caused by falls, or by any other bearded dragon.

2. Malnourished - make sure he has a balanced diet and he gets the nourishment he needs

How to identify tail rot:
1. Dried out - Decaying tail won't be able to retain moisture, check if it's dried out completely.

2. Very thin, brittle - Decaying tail won't be able to process nourishment, causing it to become more thin and brittle.

What to do after finding out it has a tail rot:
1. Go to a vet - very recommended

Looks like a patch of unshed skin. Give beardie a 10 minute daily soak and after 2-3 days of that use a soft toothbrush while the tail is soaking.
BTW< is your dragon having trouble walking ? You say it has a hip joint problem.

He definitely is eating fine. I did have to wait about a week to get his Dubia roaches and Phoenix worms in which is not my norm.
After going poop today, he has been running around like crazy. Even his left leg doesn't seem to bother him and barely looks noticable that it was dislocated. The one thing he has problems with since that happened is going to the bathroom. The vet was concerned this would be a problem and had shown me how to use a Q-tip to help him. I don't do anywhere near what the vet does, just a bit and he goes.

I checked and his tail doesn't feel dry or brittle. So I take that as a positive. I will continue giving him baths and see if we can't get that shed off.

It sounds like he had a very light strain of his hip area, nothing else. If he's jumping around like normal then don't bother with expensive tests + Xrays. And how long is it between poos that has you concerned ? Most adults do not go every day, some go once a week. A little extra veggies + hydration or applesauce, baby food veggies [ no salt ] will help him become more regular with his poos.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
