I was reading on Facebook, they found a new species of Bearded Dragon
A newly hatched Grassland Earless Dragon was recorded this week in Canberra Nature Park ?
This is very exciting as this species is one of Australia’s rarest reptiles and is at risk of extinction in the near future. In fact there are more Pandas left than Grassland Earless Dragons!
This species has suffered declines in recent decades likely due to a combination of drought, overgrazing and climate change.
The plight of this species highlights that fighting loss of biodiversity, even for an animal the size of a 50 cent piece, is both a local and global issue.
