House Centipede??

I hope this is an emergency enough to post here, but I woke up out of a dead sleep due to my beardie making scratching sounds in the tank. I check and he's cornered a house centipede, a huge one!

I took my beardie out of the cage immediately, put him in the other room, and a minute later I come back and it's gone! I don't know if he ate a piece of the centipede or if it's still in the house/room, (they run at 42mph apparently.), so does anyone know 100% if their toxic or not??? I can't find a clear answer, only that some centipedes are toxic to beardies. I've seen a video of a beardie eating a house centipede before but who knows if it was okay after.

I'm very worried! Any help appreciated!

Hello,

I cannot be certain if they are toxic, but most centipedes are. I would go ahead & try to get
some activated charcoal at the drug store if you can to help detoxify him.
Or, if you have some parsley, kale, spinach, cilantro in the kitchen, you can mix those up to
make a greens slurry to help detoxify the system.
Is he acting ill or not?

Did you take a photo of remnants of the centipede or have you photos of the species , I think it depends on the species and if the dragon scored a bite and was invemonated (would be obvious if this happened I think in the behavioural cues you are getting from the dragon).
I'm sure someone on this board will be able to id the species and tell you for sure if there's an issue.

I know some centipedes are regarded a venomous to extent of being dangerous to people (if they bite).

Umm, Are you sure that isn't dangerous?? It looks terrifying and seems to have like barbs on its legs! If my beardie ate that I Would be terrified. But I Could be wrong.

I get these under the house and in my shed , and often encountered them and big earwings when fishing all night for jewfish on the big breakwaters …. those big earwings were nasty …. they act as garbage crew (and feast on rotting bait that other fishermen left (because they didn't give a ****) and they like trying to eat anything they come across and are filfy buggers …. a bite will draw blood and worse …. because of their diet …. will fester and take a long time to heal.... the centipedes were nice and will not bite (or if they do - can't penetrate the skin)….

Even the bigger centipedes like shown above only dangerous if they happen to bite you.
