Beardie Broken Tooth?

Today I took my Beardie to the vet over a potential RI. When looking in his mouth, the vet used the circular finger holds of a pair of metal medical scissors stating that "the tool for this is somewhere but I'm not going to go look." Radish, being the grumpus that he his, didn't like this cold metal thing in his mouth and chomped down pretty hard on it. There was a bit of a cracking noise, and the vet didn't look anymore into it. When I brought him home, he was running his tongue over that side of his mouth a lot and wouldn't let me look at it until I really pried his mouth open. Lo and behold, there's a tooth that was broken and bleeding. :angry5: It's one of the ones in the middle-back of his mouth. It doesn't seem to be bothering him terribly, but I haven't fed him since the incident. Is there anything I can do to prevent it from getting infected or bothering him? :( Thanks in advance.

Poor guy. That was a reckless move by the vet. I wouldn't go back there. I would apply some raw/unpasteurized honey to the area to protect it and help prevent infection. It may also be a good idea to order some MaxiGuard gel to apply to the area to disinfect it as needed. Hopefully it will heal up quickly and not cause any further problems. Is this the side teeth or the sharp front tooth? It seems somewhat common for the front tooth to be lost but I haven't seen it cause issues with eating or long term discomfort. I think the key is to prevent infection while it heals.

Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
Getting ready for another day. Feeling sleepy. 😴
I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate
