Question about spray foam for enclosures

Hi all! I'm new here and I do not currently own a beardie yet but have seriously been thinking of getting one. I firmly believe in doing your homework before commiting. A little about me..I started off collecting tarantulas.. of which I still own around 50..lol. This past year I purchased some crested geckos after realizing how easy they were to care for..and of course they're cute. I was always interested in beardies but the special lighting and additional heat required made me hesitant. I've recently decided I'd like to take the plunge...but homework first! This all leads to why I came here. First of all I know from other forums I belong to how informative they can be so I'm hoping to find an answer to one question I haven't been able to find the info I need online. It pertains to Great Stuff spray foam. I've seen really cool enclosures using this for multiple reptiles including beardies. I'd love to use it in my beardie enclosure but one concern popped into my head. How does this foam fair under the heat lamps and especially the hottest basking area. Can it possibly melt or become toxic? I know many people use unsanded grout to cover the foam. Does the grout protect it from the high temps. Any information would be greatly appreciated. :D

I've personally used mostly insulation foam for my backgrounds, but have used Great Stuff on occasion. It is safe for animals as long as it is dry. I've heard of some people sealing it with silicone, then adding coco fiber, etc on top of it to give it texture. I personally would use grout, but you can use whatever you want to cover it. It will be fine in the basking spots, but adding grout on top of it would (IMO) make it look better and stay cooler. I've never seen Great Stuff melt after it has had time to cure. Hope this helps!

Don't , they outgas for years and the gas will accumulate in the confined space that is the viv.

You risk poisoning your pet who will be trapped in the viv breathing the fumes 24/day for years.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
