Hi people.
I just made a bigger cave for Mrjaws , getting ready for his first Brumation. I used coconut fiber to surround the cave just for decoration and it was cheaper than reptile carpet. I am not using it for the substrate. Should I rip it off and start all over  thank you

As long as he isn't pooping on it or licking at it, then it shouldn't pose a problem. Take it out if he shows interest in eating it or if it gets dirty though.

Thank you for your response. I was concerned about him eating it. I didn't work quick enough though because he has been sleeping for more than 72 hours now and I was not able to finish his cave. He has burrowed under shredded paper so I'm just going to let him alone. I do plan on bathing him Sat. to keep him hydrated. I just got him a new supply of crickets and worms, so I have to take care of them also. His basking spot is 104 and UVB is rated moderate.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
