Just finished setting up my tote to breed dubias in. I am using a regular heating pad off of Amazon for under heating. And I wired up a heating controller to keep Temps about 90-95. My problem is, I have the temp probe for the controller taped to the bottom of the tote. And it keeps the bottom of the tote the correct temperature, however after a few hours using IR thermometer the temp of egg crate inside is only around 78-80°.
Should I move the temp probe off of the bottom and stick it in between the egg carton and use that as the temperature spot? If I do that, it seems like the bottom surface of the tote gets around 100-105° and I don't want to kill the roaches. So I'm not sure what to do.
