sealing tile

I want to use tile as a substrate in my dragon's tank, but all the tile my local Home Depot has is a smooth finish tile. I had a thought, if I flip the tile over and used the uncoated side, it will provide enough texture for him to walk on. The only problem I am seeing is the uncoated side will absorb his pee/poop.

Does anyone know of a way to seal the tile so it is easily cleaned, but provided enough texture for him to walk on?

Do you have any slate tile available? That would provide enough texture. I use ceramic tiles which have enough texture (don't need much really) and I leave them loose so I can swap them out for cleaning. I got them from Lowe's.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
