Hi,
so my baby bearded dragon (new) closes his eyes a lot and holds his breath? Like he is very still and he is not breathing and this will go on for minutes before he'll open his eyes. He scares me a lot and I want to know if this behavior is normal or if there is something wrong with him. I put him in a separate tank for him to eat and today he was so still in there with all the crickets with his eyes cold, and I moved him with my finger, like scooched him near the crickets (he won't eat them unless they're right in front of him) and he was so still he didn't move or open his eyes. I thought he was dead until I picked him up and moved him to his tank where he ran and hid. Is this normal??
Thank you.

It sounds like the cricket tank may have been stressful for him. They close their eyes sometimes when stressed or annoyed. They can also breathe very shallow sometimes, especially during sleep. The behavior itself isn't unheard of but the stress might be an issue. Is he like this often? Or just when he is put in the cricket tank? Can you take some videos of his behavior? You can upload video to a host like vimeo or youtube and link to it here.

Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
Getting ready for another day. Feeling sleepy. 😴
I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate
