Good Morning :) I would like to say I usually just lurk but, I have ran into a small issue with a newly adopted beardie...and could use your help!
What would be your suggestion to get him to eat a few dubia's and get him away from meal worms? So he would quit hissing at me and help get him tamed, I did put my shirt in his tank that I wore. When I left to go get more greens and came back, he was perched up on my shirt. Later that evening he allowed me to pick him up wrapped in the shirt and fell asleep on my lap. Is there anything I should try to help the taming?
Also I was told if he is use to eating food out of his dish, he may not chase the roaches around in his tank.

I have a 8 month old little girl as well but, she is currently in a 110 gallon tank and his is in a 55 gallon that was his from the owner, should I possibly switch them out? (I will deep clean his tank before I do it) Do you think its better to leave him in his own home for awhile?

He looks pretty health. Filled out pretty well and his eyes are clear, no spots really. I just need to know how to get him to eat a little more and more taming methods.

Thank you :D

Give him time to settle in. It can take a while for an adult to adjust to a change in home as well as diet. Try to be patient with him. The shirt trick is a good one and I'd keep that up. Try to develop a routine with him that he can settle into. Try offering him some food by hand. Maybe offer treats like a hornworm this way. There isn't a whole lot else to do. I'm glad he has found a good home with you. I would keep your 8 month old in her home and keep his the same while he is adjusting. Later on you may want to build or buy a larger one for him but I'd hold off on that for a bit if he isn't too cramped for space.

Aww thank you for the advice! He finally ate a couple of dubias and some of his salad. Right now I think I will keep in his home. The t-shirt thing must be working because, he's pretty calm when I pick him up. So the progress is slowly coming along!

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
