Pooping outside of viv

Our beardie (who we’ve had for just over a month) has started the unfortunate habit of pooping outside of his viv. First time was while he was sitting on my chest (super gross), second time was when he was exploring our bed. First time was my own fault, he was due for a poop anyways. But the second time he had already pooped that day, so it was very odd. It was quite watery, so could he just have an upset stomach? Nothing changed in his diet or behavior. Any thoughts?

It happens.

Those of use who are used to lizards keep an eye on them and if the tail and bum goes up , we quickly slip a piece of paper towel under their bum and this usually catches the poo.

If the poo is done on carpet , soft furnishings, clothes, this happens to us all occasionally .... consider yourself christened .... LOL .

Eventually you can turn it to your advantage. Once they start going once a day or less you can set them in an easy to clean area (linoleum floor for example) until they go. They'll get used to the routine and start going there regularly. Easy to clean up for you and no messy tank for them.

mine do this alot. this is probably because they are in a larger space and running around as opposed to being in the viv in a confined space.

Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
Getting ready for another day. Feeling sleepy. 😴
I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate
