I have had my breardy Jeb for about a year now. he is my first reptile I have owned and so far pretty laid back for the most part took to me pretty well. He is three going on 4 this year he is kind of a big boy. I asked some one at a local pet store about the scratching at the tank they said his tank might be to small but I have the biggest one i can buy for him I think with out special ordering one. The drooling is kind of concerning after reading a little on here hes only done it a couple of time but it has been months apart.

Can you provide more info about his setup? What are the dimensions of the tank he has now? What do you have in place for his lighting? It sounds like either something may be off (temps, UVB exposure) or his enclosure is too small, or he just wants to get out and run around and explore a bit.

Can you post some photos of him and his setup? You can upload photos here https://www.beardeddragon.org/useruploads/ and post them to your thread using the XIMG button when you reply.

He has a basking lame that 150 watt and a lamp on the cooling side that 100 his tank on the cool side is 70s to 80s
Warm side unsure I don't keep a thermometer on that side. I think is 4 feet long it might be long and about 2 feet wide and 2 feet tall. He also has a night time uv light it and 80 watt. That is his night lamp to keep him warm at night.

Do you know which brand and size UVB light you're using? Is the bulb you're using a mercury vapor combination UVB/UVA light? It's possible the temperatures are off. I suggest monitoring the basking site and the cool side of the tank to ensure you have a proper gradient. Either an IR temp gun like this https://www.amazon.com/Nubee-Temperature-Non-contact-Infrared-Thermometer/dp/B00CVHIJDK or a couple of digital thermometers with probes (one for each spot) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0017N8W90/ will help you get accurate readings of the surface temperatures and adjust your lighting as needed. You'll want the basking site to be about 100-105 or so and the cool side should be around 75-80 during the day with a nice gradient inbetween. Overnight if the temperatures stay above about 65 or so no additional heating is needed as a slight cool down is natural and healthy for them.

Proper UVB exposure is quite important and in a tank that size I would use a T5 tube like this http://www.lightyourreptiles.com/22-t-5-ho-fixture-high-output-with-arcadia-d3-12-ho-bulb/ It should sit about 12'' above the basking area for optimal output. When the UVB light from that is combined with bright white light from the basking bulb it will do a pretty good job of imitating natural sunlight which is the goal.

Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
Getting ready for another day. Feeling sleepy. 😴
I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate
