My beardie got really cold one day and almost seemed to be grey I don't know if it was my lighting in my room and after a few minutes of being up again net my chest and some warming I turned on the light and he seemed to go back to normal! Is this normal though?

That sounds like a temperature issue to me. It's common that if they get cold they will slow down and curl up and have a nap. They can recover and warm up pretty quickly though. It's good to use a timer for the lights so they are on a set cycle. If you provide time outside of the tank it's a good idea to use a clamp lamp to make a portable basking spot he can return to if he gets cold.

He has a fine temperature the problem was he didn't have his lights on for about an hour and the color change is normal correct?

I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate
