So I was giving my beadie some squash baby food out of the end of a little plastic syringe. I mix his vitamins in it so I know hes getting them. Usually he just licks it off of his lips as I slowly dob it on. But today he bit the end of it. And I could not believe he bit the end right off! In a moment, without thinking I grabbed him and pried his mouth open. Somehow hoping I could get it out. But of course he had swallowed it. Then my finger slipped and he bit me. 
After the fact, I realized how dumb it was of me to do that. As the chance he hadn't eaten it was very low, and the stress it surely caused him, not to mention I got bit bad on my finger.
What should I do for him? The piece of plastic he ingested is roughly 7mmX4mm and shaped like the end of a syringe. Is there a chance he will pass it. Hes about 16 months old, and about average size for that age. If I had any idea he could bite the end off like that I would have never used it. And what can I use in the future to avoid something like this from happening again?
