Can anyone tell me what this could be? I noticed my beardies scales look a darker than normal a couple weeks ago but I thought it was because i just switched her bedding to sand (i switched back to carpet). she now has a patch under her tail and dark spots. She’s eating and pooping normally and has a intense uv bulb and her basking spot is about 98 degrees

Hello,

That isn't scale rot, but, either a combination of an upcoming shed & dirty scales from the sand.
You can give daily baths for awhile, using a small soft toothbrush to gently scrub the scales
clean.

Hi there,

I agree, it's just dirty stained shed. It will come off. :)
Sometimes they get like that of they run through a loose stool or sit in wet sand like Tracie mentioned.

Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
Getting ready for another day. Feeling sleepy. 😴
I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate
