I just got him about 3-4 weeks ago and he was fine for a while, he started to make popping noises and puff up/open his mouth. We called the store and they took him to the vet, he got a all clear. He’s still making the noises and opening his mouth very consistently. Why would he be doing this? He’s no more than 2 months old.

Do you see signs of him shedding around his beard/face? This often shows as dull/waxy scales or white looking scales. That could cause him to be flexing to stretch the skin a bit. They also open their mouths while basking (and sometimes while not basking) to regulate their temps and this is normal behavior.
