Last week my beardie had a bump develop over her eye. Then last weekend it doubled in size and caused her eye to close and bulge out. Needless to say I took her to a vet on Monday. They let me bring her home today after a week of antibiotics and 2 attempts to drain it. The vet believes she will need surgery to remove the "mass". I am not thrilled with having her go under for surgery. It does look better but is there anything else I can do or have the vet test for? I would really like to rule out as much as possible before resorting to surgery. I have attached pictures. She did try to open her eye today. We originally thought she had stuck shed then infection from trying to get it off and possibly scratching it.

Thank you in advance for the assistance.

Did the vet test the content of the mass to determine if it is something like an aneurysm or if it's something related to trauma etc? I think the best course of care would be easier to determine if the cause of the mass is determined. Is her eye still closed after the antibiotic treatment?

She is opening her eye some. But the eye itself is still pressed downward. She has 1 last dose of antibiotics tonight. I believe its trauma induced. She was glass suffering the week before. I now believe she wanted out of her tank. That doesnt surprise me though as unfortunately we live in construction right now. And no we didnt get her knowing we would be living in construction. Hopefully my house will be fixed from its Hurricane Michael damage in the next month or 2

If it's not a bacterial infection then the antibiotics aren't likely to be helping. Without knowing the cause or what's going on inside the inflamed area, I'm not sure what the best way to proceed is. I would ask the vet what they found going on inside the affected area.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
