Hello,
My daughter’s baby leatherback got attacked last week by her friend’s juvenile beardie. Baby lost right eye, has bruising and crooked bottom lip. I decided to take care of the little one as I missed having a beardie again since we lost our 9 years old German Giant last year.
Fury is doing a lot better, I have been bathing 3-4 x a day, basking temperature varies between 102-103 F, and cooler side between 75-80 F. At night leave ceramic lamp and temperature is 80 F, as house gets a bit cold. I also cover with blanket the side that Fury sleeps to have more darkness.
I have been feeding mealworms about 7-10 every 3-4 x day by gently opening mouth. Then I alternate with puréed veggies by syringe. I also cut in half small silk worms and tomato horned worms and able to feed them as well. Basically almost every 2 hours either getting bugs or veggie purée. Fury has more energy and looking better.
Before anyone asks me why I haven’t gone to vet, I fell last week and cannot move arm due to shoulder injury. Everyone else too scared to care for Fury as they don’t want to hurt him/her. As much pain I’m in , I bathe, feed and care for Fury.
I would like some ideas of nutritious purées I could make and any other advice would be greatly appreciated.
