bulging-out spots around and legs?

Postby fireboye » Fri Feb 08, 2019 10:13 pm

I've had my beardie since late December, I've taken him to the vet once before since then to treat an eye infection, ( which he is still taking the medication for. ) and I haven't spotted any other issues other then his very persistent glass surfing, which I was thinking could of been from the stress of moving or change of area.
I just finished giving him a bath and while patting him down I noticed this small spots on the bottom of his legs and around his anal gland area. They seem to be bumping out a bit and are almost the same color as the scales. He's around 2 years old and is housed in a 2 ft x 3 ft glass enclosure with a UVB lamp & heating pad, and newspapers are used as the substrate which is changed every 1-2 days.
here's the best photo I could get of the issue, I hope it's good enough quality! Any tips for this would help greatly.

Hello,

No worries....are you referring to the small pore looking bumps on both sides on the inner legs?
If so, those are completely normal. :D They are what are called Femoral Pores & are very
dominant in appearance especially in males but, females will have them but greatly reduced
in size though.
What type/brand of UVB are you using for him & what are the temperatures for him? The news
papers are fine, they are easy to keep clean. Just be sure they don't get wet so that the ink wont
rub off on his little hands & feet.
How is his appetite doing?
