I'll start from the beginning.
About a week ago we moved Dabs into her new cage.
New light fixture.
New under tank heater.
New perching log.
Her old set up was a 21G long, with a double dome light fixture, with individual bulbs for the UVB and Heat and an undertank heater on one side. Temps were 95-110 on the hot side 80 or so on the cool.
New tank is a 40 G W front opening terrarium type tank, with a single fixture for UVB and Heat up top (Solar Combo Bulb/Mercury Vapor Bulb) as well as an under tank heater.
Temps are in the low hundreds on the hot side, and steady at 80 degrees F on the cool. According to my thermometers there isn't much of a humidity or temp change compared to her last setup.
We have been feeding, dusting and interacting with her the same.
She's been super frantic and stressed out over her reflection in the glass sides of her tank and I've spent the last week trying to cover with the appropriate color/pattern paper or poster to aid her in some way to not see herself ALL DAY.
We settled on plain white paper. It seems to be helping.
HOWEVER!
She has been spending the entire day lazy with her eyes closed and seemingly uninterested in anything that's going on around her. As I type this she's passed out on my chest not even awake enough to grab my shirt like she normally does.
She's displayed this behavior ever since we switched her enclosure. We wake up very early in my home and in the morning time she seems more alert and will go after crickets and veggies, but is limp and out of it by the time I'm home from work eight hours later.
She also has been having these little bitty poops sometimes multiple times a day when she used to have one big BM every few days. Urates are still white when I see them and the poo itself seems solid enough.
I don't know what could be wrong.
Any suggestions? She's only six months old or so and I am a first time bearded dragon owner.
I know there's a thing called brumation but I hears that's more a winter thing and I live in Florida so it's not really ever THAT cold here. But I'm not even sure what to look for with that.
I also thought maybe switching to a combination bulb instead of two individual bulbs might be keeping her from getting all the UVB she needs but I don't know what they'd be acting like if that was the case either.
I looked into her possibly being dehydrated but she doesn't drink water from her baths at all, she sometimes will if I spray her but mostly she looks at me with a very annoyed face.
I haven't altered her diet of crickets and mustard greens at all, I offer her the same amounts daiky whether she decided she to eat is another story.
She eats medium sized crickets, dusted with Calcium that has D3 and on weekends I sometimes use a vitamin powder mix as well. I also treat her from time to time with discoid roaches.
She also hasn't shed in almost two months. I've soaked, I've sprayed, etc. But I also was told as they age they shed less.
I am more than willing to answer any inquires you have.
I am open to any and all suggestions.
If she isn't better soon I'll have to seek out a vet but I'm working on a low income budget so if I could help her without that I would prefer it since they're not forgiving with pricing around where I live.
