I looked up information about my bearded dragon possibly having eye issues and came across this discussion viewtopic.php?f=45&t=95886. Only thing is that I have the recommended UVB bulb. ReptiSun 10.0. His eyes are fine, crystal clear no fogginess no cloudy whiteness anywhere. But my beardie keeps bumping into the glass of his enclosure. I don't know if this is because he is having eye issues or he is just testing out his enclosure. My beardie, Aegon, is a rescue. My friend who had been "dragon sitting" was friends with the person who rescued him. His original owner was mentally handicapped and couldn't properly take care of him.
He was never fed a proper diet and he only consumed Superworms from what I have been told. Once he was rescued my friend only had a 40 gal tank to place him in. Aegon is 18 inches long and was rather cramped for the several months he was with him. But now he is in a 36x36x18inch enclosure and has more than enough room.
However, he WILL NOT eat veggies. In fact, he walked right through his water and food bowls. I don't know if that was just because he didn't' care that they were there and they were just in his way, or, he didn't see them. I held a Dubia right by his eye and he didn't even go for it. I held some of his greens in front of him, or his eye, and ran them along with his lips but still nothing. I don't know if this is just him trying to adjust to his tank and I am just being paranoid as a first time Beardie mom or if there is something wrong. My friend took him to a vet that specialized in Reptiles and they said he had a few issues but he was placed on Anti-biotics and was okay.
We picked him up Saturday night and its Monday night now and he still hasn't eaten a thing. Does this happen often to Beardies who are adjusting to a new home? If anyone has any advice for a first time Beardie mom please send them my way.
