It's always concerning when they become lethargic and won't move or open their eyes, and there are a lot of different reasons that this can happen. Going through a full body shed can definitely stress them, but since you're new, you definitely want to make sure that his enclosure and lighting is both adequate and setup correctly, as typically these issues are caused by inadequate UVB lighting, incorrect temperature zones inside the enclosure, and inadequate diet and supplementing. The best thing that you can do is to post photos of both your beardie and of his enclosure and lighting, and then answer some basic questions about your setup:
-How long have you had him? How old is he? How long and how much does he weigh?
-What size enclosure is he in?
-What
UVB light are you using, as far as what brand, model/wattage, and what shape/type (is it a coil bulb, a regular compact bulb, or a long tube)? Is it mounted inside the enclosure or on top of a glass or mesh lid? How far is the
UVB bulb from his basking spot?
-What is the brand/color/wattage of your basking bulb?
-What are the temperatures on his basking spot, in his Hot Side, and in his Cool Side? What type of thermometer are you using to measure these temperatures?
-What insect(s) are you feeding him as his staple protein? How many insects do you feed in one feeding? How many feedings do you give him per day? Do you offer him any greens, veggies, or any commercial bearded dragon food?
If you can answer those questions and post photos of him and the enclosure and lighting, we can help you get his setup correct. It's much better to get any bad lighting or incorrect temperatures straightened out early on so that he suffers no long-term health issues from bad husbandry, as this is unfortunately very, very common.
