[Edit] - All seems to be going well, little presents almost daily!
Did not think I would be posting in this forum so soon, but I have a unnerving concern over the mischievous curiosity my beardie just got himself into...
Noticed today my little beardie had nipped at a corner of the faux rocks I have made for his Vivarium, and a small bit of sealant/paint missing (roughly 3/4" x 1/8" section,) which I believe he has ingested. Giving this was a crumbled corner, I'm not sure if he had eaten any styrofoam, but If any it would have been a pellet or two if he had. My concern is a possible impaction if it doesn't pass. Paint used was a spray paint for rock texture since it was a suggestion of possible paints to be used. Together the layers (paint w/ 4-5 layers of Sheilds-all) are thin enough I think they might pass. He did enjoy himself some grout in the process, but it seems the paint separates from the grout rather easily
Now, not sure if it was just an under-grouted corner/edge (to where it was easy to bit) or if he just really wanted to bit it to get at whatever he thought it could be at, but seems all but 2 other corners were unable to be crushed between my forefinger and thumb, but regardless I removed this faux rock, as well as his cave/hide so it wouldn't happen again. Will be remaking them, as for when I as examining the basking faux rock, I accidentally dropped it, breaking off a leg, and ramp
(Image of faux rock, circled similar corner that he bit, but actual corner is hidden in the picture.)
Construction of them were Styrofoam -> 4-5 layers of Grout -> 1 layer of Paint -> 4-5 layers for Sheilds-All Sealant.
I do have an appointment with a local pet hospital which handles reptiles. Taking him in for a check up, and fecal test since I just acquired this little guy three days ago, I wanted to make sure everything checks out with him health wise. I will now be bringing this up at the appointment and hope everything so smoothly.
Is there anything else I should ask about/tests?
Is there anything I could do on my end aside from watching for fecal movements and shifting through them to assure the 'missing sealant' is passed? Or do you think it would be unrecognizable?
So far, with the diet I've been feeding, he has had a movement about twice a day; moist (watery puddle), holding it's shape, etc. Pretty much looks like every other picture I've seen on here or Google. Last night he had a lot of greens in the evening, so this mornings present was a nice gloppy pile from the green alone (as from what I researched would be normal from a high green movement)
[Edit] - To further my question/concern on impaction, if he will run the rick of impaction, how soon do you see signs of it? With stating his movement patterns so far, but these being based off of the past three days. If there is minimal risk of impaction, when would you suppose I would see the foreign material pass in a movement?
