UVB questions

Hello everyone!!

I've heard you cant put UVB on top of mesh or screen because it will block the UVB rays. Is there any exception to this? I know you can mount in inside the tank but im confused on how to do that. Someone said on here the reptisun t5 can go on mesh because it has stronger rays, is this correct? It seems a little fishy to me but what do I know :lol:

Hi there!

Yes, I use a t5 on top of my mesh screen and it works perfectly fine as long as you have a reflector

Yes mesh does intercept some of the UVB. How much depends on how fine the mesh is. It's best to use a higher output T5 with a reflector when mounting over mesh as mentioned. I was just wondering if that wouldve been easier but I think ill mount mine inside the tank.
