First of all i would like to say hi, and am i glad to have stumbled across the forum!
My name is paul and am 32 in the uk , with no beardies...... yet!
My partner and i are just getting the viv setup ready , she has kept reptiles before but i am new, and very exited :D
At the mo we have a 3ft modular and are looking at getting 2 females and a male . The viv is going to get extended as soon as the beardies start to grow and i am even thinking of getting the extension as soon as we have them and holding it ready in a cupboard. As i have mentioned , my partner is experienced but the technology can be a bit of a headache, so a couple of questions.
We have a reptiglo 10. 0 i have read these are bad? Ours is ceiling mounted at the mo about 18" up with climb access. We have a basking light on a dimmer at the moment but am looking at a timer, And a wall mounted heatmat for use when neccessary. get paid tommorow so i can grab a digital thermometer. Gonna put them on paper towel to start off with as substrate and get the basking and tube on tommorow to check the temps beforehand. Once all is good we are going to check stock. (oh have a vet lined up too for the future ). Is there anything i haven`t remembered ? and what is the best way to introduce them? we were looking at picking up the 2 females at the same time and grabbing the male from elsewhere asap (about the same age ofc) . Is this the best way ?

Welcome to the forum! Yes, the reptiglo is bad. The only thing recommended right now is the reptiSUN 10.0, because all the others are having problems. I really recommend not having three in the same enclosure. It can lead to disaster. What if your "females" turn out to be male? They will fight to the death. Even if they are both females, beardies are solitary and territorial animals. There will also be 1 dominant beardie getting most of the food and basking privileges, while the others get little food or basking time. If you are planning to mate them, they should each have their own enclosure. If they are kept together, they will mate prematurely, and the male will not stop breeding with the females, causing stress and possibly death. As babies, if they are hungry, they will nip at and bite off each others toes and feet. Even if they appear to "get along" or "love each other", I can assure you, they don't. Please consider all this before you get them. You are taking a huge risk by putting 3 in the same tank. There will almost certainly be problems with that many in one tank.

AMEN.

No beardies no matter what gender or how big the tank is should be housed together.. unless the tank is like an acre large... lol. I have heard too many stories of "no, they get along so great, im keeping them together" then a month later, they come and post saying they came home to see blood all over their enclosure wondering "what went wrong"

Yes, even if they appear to be friends, there is still stress and tension. Its only a matter of time before one snaps.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
