Meet Falkor and give any advice you may have!

So I went to an expo today with plans on getting another ball python and came home with another ball but also a beardie. He grabbed my heart. Any advice you have for this little guy would be appreciated. Also any ideas for how old he is? By the way he could be a she but we are not sure yet. Oh and do you think he is to skinny?

Maybe 10 weeks? Needs some fattening up .
what's your setup like for him?

Took a picture of his setup to show and honestly for the life of me I can not remember the name of the vendor I picked him up from. It was at the New England Reptile Expo today, the gentleman had a smaller sized table and was asian. I know that is not very helpful.

Hi. Glad you took him in. I can see he is very dehydrated. You can give him water through a syring and I'd give him a bayh every day. He needs a tube uvb and better thermometers. There are 2 articles on the right that will be very helpful under newbies lighting and what to buy. Good luck with him! He sure is a cutie

Thank you so much! I will get him in the tub now to try and start hydrating him.

As for the lighting I will grab a tube light this weekend, I really do appreciate the advice. I had never planned on owning a beardie before but we had the tank just sitting here and when I saw him, I could not leave him there, he looked so sad there and he tore at my heart.

Make sure it's a reptiSUN 10.0 tube light. T8 OR T5. But if you get the T5 you will need a high output fixture, which can be more expensive. A T8 should do fine in that tank.

Just wanted to add he should be fed 2x to 3x a day. I'd feed him Phoenix worms as those are loaded with calcium just in case he has the start of mbd. Dubia roaches are also good feeders. Make sure you dust calcium 5x a week on feeders and vitamins 2x a week. No mealworms as those can easily impact the little guy. Keep us updated
