I am wondering if Loki has eggs he/she maybe trying to lay? (I'm not even 100% sure Loki is female actually) He/She is almost 5 years old now. Isn't that too old for a bearded dragon to be carrying eggs anyway?

I let her outside yesterday because she had been so restless in her cage these past few days. After running around for a while like a demon she started digging a hole in my flowerbed.

Loki has exhibited the restless/no eating behavior before and she eventually snapped out of it, but the digging thing is new and has me worried.

This afternoon I let her outside and she continued for a couple hours relentlessly digging up my Begonias.

Right now she's pacing her cage again, but I put a plastic container in her cage filled with some tropical soil bedding I bought at the pet store.

She's just running through it and making a mess. Is the container too small? Too high? I'm not sure what else I can do....any advice?

It does indeed look like she is nesting. Is she digging in the bed-a-beast at all? You migh also want to close it up a bit as she may need more privacy.Beardies do not like to lay out in the open thus the reason for her digging outside under the cover of the flowers. You also might want to make the bed a beast a little deeper as well or you can creat a rubbermaid bin laybox and fill it with soil/sand or soil/bed a beast, cut a hole in the top for a heat lamp and let her go to town in there for a few hours a day.You might have to try multiple things until you figure out exactly what she likes.

So far Loki is ignoring the box I put in her viv...I realize it may be too small so I went out and bought a "litterbox" size plastic container that I will put in Loki's enclosure tomorrow while I am at work. Afterwards, I'll take her out and let her back in the yard I guess. I don't know what else to do. :(

How long does it typically take for them to lay eggs?

It's been about a week and Loki still hasn't laid any eggs from what I have seen. I take her outside every day after work. She is not interested in the lay box in her tank at all. She just makes a mess tossing the bed-a-beast around as she runs through it all day long. I have yet to try containing her in the large rubbermade container, but I predict she'd just claw like mad at the sides trying to get out.

All she is interested in doing is continuing this massive tunneling project in the flowerbed. I've constructed a shelter of sorts for her to cover the hole using one of the half-logs from her enclosure and a piece of board. She gets to work on her tunnel a couple hours a day while I am home in the late afternoon, but I won't leave her alone out there while I am not at home. The patio area is completely fenced in. She can't escape, but I just don't feel comfortable leaving her out there unsupervised for long....lots of stray cats in the neighborhood that can easily hop over the fence.

Here is video I took just an hour ago

This has been going on for days...I'm going to be home for the next couple hours...hopefully she does something soon, but I'm going to have to bring her inside when I leave for the evening later on.

How long does this process take?

Just let her be,it can take a few hours. When she is finished she will begin to bury them, once she is done bring her in and give her a bath and food. She is going to need alot of protienand calcium over the next couple of weeks to get her back into shape.

Congrats!get ready for a fun filled summer of beardies gone wild!malibu insisted on laying at the playground for two summers....then i couldn't take anymore sitting at the playground in my lawn chair waiting....even got some wine one day and had a friend sit w/ me......then i got the "big" kitty litter pan w/ the dip in the front and filled it with echo earth....now she happily lays in her box...when i see the signs i place it in her viv.

I left for evening but before I did I brought her in and placed her in a rubbermade container filled with the bed-a-beast and her half log for privacy. I did not want to leave her outside while I was gone.

I just got home now, and found five more eggs and a very exhausted beardie. That makes a grand total of 41 eggs!!! I'm not kidding you! I can't believe she had so many eggs inside of that belly! I will post some pictures soon...

Right now she's resting at home in her enclosure. She'll wake up tomorrow under her heat lamp and once she's warm, I'll give her a bath, clean her up and try to get her to eat. Her usual diet is superworms and mustard or collard greens. What food would be best to build up her strength?

Good Job!
Yes that bath is most important there have been many a night where I am bathing beardies at 1 am to rehydrate from egg laying!in regards to feeding the key right now is protien, protien and protien(calcium dust included of course) as well as salads. What type of feeders do you use right now? Crix, hornworms, superworms, silkworms, butterworms, roaches, phoenix worms are all good!

I usually feed her supers and greens (mustard or collards). I was thinking of ordering some Dubias as a treat. What would be the best feeder for her right now? I only have supers on hand which she has not wanted to eat for the past couple weeks.

She is sleeping right now (I think) Should I wake her up to give her a bath now, or wait until morning?

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
