Living here in New England and we're in the beginning of a heat wave (4-7 days it looks like.) If I was to turn my BD basking lights (which is also the UVB its a MV bulb) on the room they are in would end up being 115+. If I leave it off it still gets to 85+. My question is if I leave the lights off but get them outside for a couple of hours is that ok?

Can you adjust the distance of the basking light, so that it doesn't get as hot? You can
also try using a fan too for help cooling it down some. Or, try placing a couple of water
bottles that you put in the freezer that are frozen, wrapped up in a towel in the corner
to lower the temperature some.

Keep the highest temperatures UNDER 40 degC (100 F) , see this for why : viewtopic.php?f=5&t=233516
This max temperature gives you an environmental (room temperature) buffer if the room is not airconditioned.
If you expect heat wave conditions …. turn the basking light off , just run the UVB (tube) for the duration of the heatwave …. this way you reduce the risk of cooking the dragon in the hottest part of the day.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
