Hey all! I just got my lil buddy a new tank that measures 36in x 18.5 x 12
I'm unsure on what the best way to heat and light this is? I always used the double dome fixture with the basking bulb and the UV bulb, but the tank is long enough that the opposite side of it really just stays room temp which is no good. Obviously I will need stronger bulbs as well, but I'm not quite certain on what exactly I should be using with this sort of tank.
Any help would be sincerely appreciated!
Much love

Get a reptisun t5 10.0 tube light and fixture to sit on top of it, usually 22" will work. This will also supply the proper uvb lighting than before. You can still use the double dome but for the heat instead, a 75 watt or 100 watt should be okay as long as it gets the basking spot to 95-105. The cool side should stay around 70-85.

I agree. That's a good light for that setup and it's OK if one side is room temp if you're getting high enough basking temps. Providing a nice gradient is beneficial and he'll move about to get what he needs at any given time.
