Hi, I just recently got a bearded dragon. I built her a nice enclosure, it is 36'' long, 24'' wide, and 18" tall. I am using a phillips 45w flood light for the heat and it seems to be too hot. I have a probe thermometer and it gets up to 116 degrees on the basking spot. Also, the dragon sits up taller then the probe so she is closer to the light. Whenever she does bask she gets dark spots on her tail and head (her back is in shed so I can't tell if it gets dark) and she doesn't seem to enjoy basking. She doesn't bask for long then goes and gets in her cave. She is very friendly, I feed her dubia, collard greens, crickets, phoenix worms, and turnip greens. She gets her calcium, multi vitamin, probiotics, I mist and bath her, and clean her cage, etc. She has a reptison 10.0 uvb too. When I give her play time on the floor she runs around and seems to really enjoy herself. She hides in her cave and takes quite a while to get her skin color back to normal. The question is... is she too hot? If so what light bulb should I get her? I really need help asap so I can get it fixed, I really don't want to burn her or anything of that matter.
