i bought my son a BD a few months ago, along with a 29 gal tank. He needs a bigger tank and we pick out a terrarium that is 36 x18 x 24. I'm looking around the web only to read that the size of the terrarium is the proper beginning size just taller?

36x18x18 is considered the minimum. The 24" tall would be nice for adding climbing structures but if you have space and can consider a larger enclosure the dragon will use the space.
