Juvenile Beardie, cricket shortage

Postby mxzel » Sat Aug 08, 2020 10:42 pm

Currently there is a cricket shortage going on where i live. I’ve just bought my first beardie, a long time dream of mine, and after some research i saw that mealworms and dry food isn’t good for them. Currently, that’s all that is available. He/she hasn’t touched the dry food, even though i moistened it. I don’t know what to do at this point, I don’t want to screw this up. Please- Any tips?

Go here and order some dubia roaches they are better staple feeder anyway
https://dubiaroaches.com/ I am hoping they are shipping again -- I would get him some 5/8 roaches and some nutri grubs -- they are the same as BSFL or phoenix worms or calci worms - they are small I would order large and dont dust them -- they are another great staple feeder for babies
Here is another website for roaches in case they arent shipping now
http://www.reptilianarts.com great place for roaches and silk worms - they are another great staple feeder- they are sold out of the small silk worms they come small when you order like 50 of them the ones in the cup a bigger and come w/ food --
http://www.coastalsilkworms.com they have one on the west coast and one on the east coast - they come w/ food -
http://www.symtonbsf.com BSFL -- good place to get these from -
Your gonna want a glass or ceramic bowl so they cant get out of -- something like this
https://www.amazon.com/Reptile-Food-Bow ... 098&sr=8-8 this is the one you want a X large - symptonbsf has them but they are $26 this one is $12 89 --
Most of these places ship pretty fast - in the mean time check your pet store for some super worms - - or look for some phoenix worms some pet stores carry them - if you get super worms only feed 1-3 on top of his salads you do not want him becoming addicted to those worms --- feed him those every morning on top of his salads -- he is eating salads correct? do you have the website for nutrition? Let me know what you get -- you can keep the dubia roaches in a 10 gallon plastic tote or a 10 gallon aquarium feed them dubia food along w/ carrots for hydration or squash --- do not feed your dragon carrots too if your feeding the roaches too much Vit A
