I agree with what most people said... tone for sure. When I talk to my beardies, they look at me and calm down if I tell them to. I always talk sweetly to one and he goes from a black beard to a pink beard... I guess its soothing.
I will say that beardies recognize people and mine know I am their mommy. When my parents come into my room and talk to my lizards, you can tell their a little hesitant in coming to the glass. One in particular only likes me and my boyfriend. (black beards everyone else).
